Course Information and Schedule

Free Trial and Starting dates

Every student who signs up to the program benefits from a free induction period, which includes an orientation session, the placement test (to understand their level) and the first module.

In some special promotional cases, the free trial can be extended to more than that. In any case, a student is only allowed one free trial period in any of Leagues of Code products; those include but are not limited to the regular program, open cups and camps.

Generally, we have many starting dates (cohort launches) throughout the year. Any new student signed up will start on a specific starting date (by default, the next one).

From that starting date, the student will have a free trial period after which they start the active period (paying).

Passing a module

The student agrees to attend classes in a minimum percentage that will be stipulated in relation to the theoretical content of each training action, as a general rule it is 70%. Only 1 absence per module is allowed.

To issue the course diploma, the student must pass all 10 modules of a league’s exams with a minimum passing grade of 70% for each module. Not achieving this grade will lead to the repetition of the same module and will delay the course diploma accordingly as well as further progress on the course.

Content, duration, schedule of the course

The course will have the content reflected on the official website. The LoC curriculum spans the full spectrum from absolute beginner to the most advanced international programming competition level such as IOI.

It is organised in 5 Leagues (Apprentice, Junior, Senior, Pro, and Super), each composed of 10 modules of 4 weeks. New students are initially positioned into one of 3 Divisions within a League - A (advanced), B (basic) or C (casual), depending on the outcome of their placement test.

Extra-curriculum content may be offered to students during breaks and holidays at an extra charge or for free Activities may include but are not limited to the following:

Aditional Activities

Summer Camps - usually organized in July, is an optional activity, paid separately. Ideal for catching up, or accelerating to move to higher division and leagues. Also, to meet in person with faculty.

Open Cups  -  ad hoc or regular additional training opportunities to improve knowledge and individual rank in the LoC open to any participants within and outside LoC ecosystem

Ad Hoc Intensive Training Week/s  - by invitation only, additional and optional intensive offline training hosted by LoC and/or Harbour.Space University with faculty from LoC for aspiring future champions.

Specialised 3-week intensive courses in Harbour.Space University - by invitation only,  on an ad hoc basis LoC participants may be invited to attend online and offline courses at the university either on full or partial scholarship based on the recommendation from the LoC’s Academic Director.

Module Structure

Each module consists of weekly online sessions with live instructors, one-on-ones, webinars with industry leaders, practical problem solving, team and individual contests, structured as follows:

  • 1 weekly 2-hour group online sessions during weekend (problem solving, theory and content);
  • 4 weekly practice problems to solve for next session;
  • On demand Assistance from instructor throughout the module;
  • 1 monthly webinar with an industry professional;
  • 1 one-on-one session (45 mins each on demand);
  • Each module is scheduled over 4 weeks.
